BADSEY RANGERS U11's 6 ALCESTER TOWN U11's 1 A CUP FULL OF PROMISE FOR BADSEY! Badsey put their patchy league form firmly behind them with an exhilarating display of passing and finishing which saw them comfortably progress into the last 8 of the League Cup. Alcester had taken the lead after only 3 minutes, but a neat through ball from Joe Nishigaki, who was at the heart of all Badseys best moments, put Phil Young in for the equaliser just a minute later. Roles were reversed shortly after when a strong run from Young put Nishigaki in for the second. Alcester missed an excellent chance to get back in the game when they missed a penalty, but it was not long before an excellent passing move swept the length of the pitch before Nishigaki added his second with low cross shot into the corner. Badseys fourth came from an unlikely source in defender Tom Hayward who struck home from fully 20 yards out for his first goal in a Rangers shirt. Alcester were then handed a lifeline with a second penalty but this was well saved by Ben Clark. The tie was all but over when Young added a fifth shortly before the break. To their credit Alcester continued to press throughout the second half but the defence, superbly marshalled by Stuart Davis, held firm. But, despite the increased pressure, their was still time for Young to complete his hat trick and Badseys sixth. |
