BROADWAY UNITED YOUTH U12 1 BADSEY RANGERS U12 4 Rangers reached the cup semi final after a hard fought victory over a much organised Broadway side. Broadway made most of the early chances and were unlucky not to take the lead. After 16 minutes Rangers took the lead against the run of play after Broadway give away a free kick 30yrds out which Matty Andrew converted with a superb left footed strike which lobbed the keeper. Broadway kept pushing forward and were rewarded after 19 minutes with a mix up in the Badsey defence resulting in a close range free kick which was fired home decisively to get Broadway back on level terms. The home side dominated the rest of the first half and only good defending from Michael Delo and Joe Haines and a super goaline clearance by Will Gillette allowed Rangers to come in level at half time. H.T Broadway United 1 Badsey Rangers 1 The second half was very evenly matched with good chances being created by both sides. With 15 minutes remaining Badsey raised their game and a superb opportunist goal put them back ahead, Alfie Dawe picked up the ball on the left wing then cut inside and fired home a fantastic right footed strike which found the corner of the net. Substitute Tom Drew and right winger Dale Simpson were both in good form which threatened the Broadway defence. After 50 minutes Rangers increased their advantage with man of the match Matty Andrew taking on two defenders and then slotting the ball into the right hand corner of the goal. The scoring was completed after 56 minutes with another good finish by Martin Bloomfield, who had caused the Broadway defence all sorts of problems with his pace, deservedly got on the score sheet with a superb finish beating the last defender and calmly stroking the ball home to give the Rangers a flattering 4-1 victory.
