BADSEY RANGERS U12 3 PEGASUS JUNIORS U12 2 Badsey entertained Herefordshire league leaders Pegasus Juniors in a friendly match held at Ballards Park on Sunday afternoon. In perfect playing conditions, both sides started well creating good early chances. Pegasus came close to taking the lead with 4 minutes gone with good build up play in midfield but the forward was unlucky to see his shot go just wide. Rangers opened the scoring after 7 minutes, Joe Haines breaking out from defence sent the ball through to Alfie Dawe who sent through a great ball which was taken on by James Mudie who ran on and fired home into the bottom corner of the net. Badsey nearly doubled their lead 5 minutes later when good work from Matty Andrew and Dawe set up Kieran James who saw his shot go wide. The Rangers defence then came under pressure from good attacking play from the Pegasus forwards but Alex Jones and Will Gillette made some outstanding challenges allowing Rangers to hold on to their slender lead. Badsey doubled the lead after 28 minutes with Scott Southerns super header finding Dawe whose clever flick on was again taken on by Mudie who rounded the goalkeeper and slotted home from an acute angle. Good goalkeeping from Tom Attwood and super play from Dale Simpson and Joe Haines allowed Badsey to take in a 2-0 half time advantage. Half Time Score Badsey Rangers 2 Pegasus Juniors 0.
