BADSEY RANGERS U12 6 SHIPSTON EXCELSIOR U12 0 Badsey ended the year on a high after a great result against a tough opposition. Right from the start Badsey piled on the pressure and with only 3 minutes gone, Matty Andrew sent a great through ball to James Mudie who made no mistake firing home into the bottom corner. Badsey kept pushing forward and saw good chances go begging with Andrew, Mudie, Scott Southern and Roly Hall Roberts all going close to doubling the advantage and then on 17 minutes Andrew was brought down in the box, but saw his spot kick well saved by the Shipston keeper. 3 minutes later Rangers pressure once again paid off with Joe Haines firing a fierce shot, which rebounded out to Southern who finished well from close range. Shipston had chances of their own and only a magnificent piece of on line defending by Alex Jones and good goalkeeping from Joey Gisbourne allowed Rangers to take in a 2-0 half time lead. Half Time: Badsey Rangers 2 Shipston Excelsior 0 Badsey started the second half as they did the first and increased the lead with only 2 minutes of the second half gone, Andrew, Southern and Alfie Dawe all linking up well and Dale Simpsons fine ball found Hall Roberts whos super shot found the top corner of the net. Badseys dominance was yet again rewarded after 34 minutes with good work from Simpson down the left who took on the last defender, and sent in a good cross which found Southerns header hitting the post to fall to Mudie who scored his second of the day. Shipston never gave up and only super goalkeeping from man of the match Gisbourne stopped them from reducing the deficit. Rangers defender Will Gillette was having an excellent game, and pushed forward with a good run and pass to Simpson who was unlucky not to increase the Rangers lead.
