BADSEY RANGERS U12 1 BREDON COLTS U12 2

The two unbeaten sides in the league produced a great game of open football. Right from the start good saves were needed from both keepers. Rangers were unlucky not to take an early lead when Matty Andrew saw his fine shot go just over the bar. Badsey kept pushing forward and had a good claim of a penalty turned down with 15 minutes gone. With Scott Southern, Alfie Dawe and Andrew running midfield the Rangers pressure was rewarded when Dale Simpson was upended in the penalty area. Up stepped Andrew who slotted the ball into the bottom corner with 20 minutes gone. Bredon pushed forward looking for the equalizer and with 28minutes gone a great run and strike was brilliantly turned round the post by Joe Gisbourne in the Rangers goal. Rangers should have increased the lead before half time but poor finishing meant the home side went into the interval with a slender lead.

Half Time Score Badsey Rangers 1 Bredon Colts 0.

With only 2 minutes of the second half gone Rangers again missed a golden opportunity to increase the lead, after good build up play from the midfield trio the Rangers forward produced a sloppy finish that didn’t trouble the Bredon keeper. With 51 minutes gone Bredon got back on level terms when Badsey’s defence didn’t clear their lines and from a resulting corner a good shot was fired home from close range. This boosted Bredon and they came on strongly pushing to get the winner. Both side produced good chances in the later stages and just when it looked like the the points were going to be shared a lack of concentration in the Rangers defence allowed the Bredon Colts forward in to round the Badsey keeper and slot home to the visitors victory in the last minute of the game.
