Rangers got back to winning ways with an outstanding first half performance, With only 1 minute gone James Mudie marked his return with a well worked goal involving good work from Matty Andrew and Scott Southern. Badsey doubled their lead 5 minutes later with Will Gillette breaking from defence. He found Alfie Dawe who rounded the defender and sent in a super cross that was brilliantly headed home by Mudie at the far post. With Rangers well on top further chances were created and only good goalkeeping prevented Rangers increasing the lead. With 18 minutes gone Badsey made it 3-0. Good build up play from Joe Haines and Southern sent a fine ball out to Martin Bloomfield on the left who then sent in an inch perfect cross into the path of Mudie to complete a first class hat-trick. Two minutes later Badsey made it 4-0, with the midfield trio combining wel,l a fierce shot from Dawe was parried out to Bloomfield who made no mistake from close range. The first half scoring was completed after 29 minutes with Alex Jones winning the ball in defence and passing the ball out wide to Roly Hall- Roberts who laid the ball back to allow Kieran James to tap into the empty net.

Drakes came out much stronger in the second half putting the Rangers defence under pressure. This was rewarded after 33 minutes when a good break and an excellent finish reduced the deficit. Good spells from both teams made for a very entertaining and well balanced second half. The Rangers back line of Haines, Gillette, Jones and Tom Drew held firm to prevent Drakes reducing the arrears. The scoring was completed after 49 minutes with Man of the Match Southern slotting the ball through to Dale Simpson who capped an excellent performance by firing home at the near post.
